Starbucks’ New Compostable Cups: A Step Forward, But Will They Work?

Starbucks’ New Compostable Cups: A Step Forward, But Will They Work?

starbucks-new-drinks.png

Starbucks has introduced new opaque white compostable cups in 14 states, replacing their traditional clear plastic cups in an effort to boost sustainability and comply with local regulations.

While we applaud any move to reduce waste and expand compostable packaging options, the transition hasn’t been without challenges. Customers are voicing frustrations over leaky lids, loss of drink visibility, and the end of TikTok-worthy beverages. In response, Starbucks is encouraging customers to bring their own reusable cups or choose in-store ceramic mugs.

Sustainability Without Sacrificing Customer Experience

Here’s the good news: sustainability and customer experience don’t have to be a trade-off.

Our crystal-clear, certified compostable PLA cold cups are composter-approved and let your drinks shine—literally. Customers love showcasing their beverages, and they shouldn’t have to compromise on aesthetics for eco-friendliness.
